Japanese Futon/Shikibuton

Futon is an English loanword derived from Japanese futon(布团), which is also called shikibuton. As a Japanese owned manufacturer, DLM Textile, we are specialized at making Japanese futon/Shikibuton: A futon is a flat mattress with a fabric exterior and filled with cotton, wool, or synthetic batting that makes up a Japanese bed.

We usually produce them in sets that include the futon mattress, a comforter or blanket and a pillow generally filled with beans, buckwheat chaff, or plastic beads. Futons are designed to put on Japanese tatami mat and it often will be folded away and stored in a closet during daytime. It will allow the tatami mat to breathe and flexibility to have more space to use.

Futon are usually between 5 to 10 cm and available in single, semi-double, and double sizes. The thinner ones are lighter and more portable, but the thick ones tend to provide more comfort.
